BCR Board Members and Officers Elected

AURORA, CO, July 16, 2001 — The BCR (Bibliographical Center for Research) Board of Trustees re-elected Richard Doyle, director of Library Services and Academic Computing at Stewart Memorial Library, Coe College, as president for the July 2001-June 2002 fiscal year. BCR member libraries also re-elected Doyle to his second term as BCR delegate to the OCLC Members Council. Lesley Boughton, state librarian at the Wyoming State Library, was re-elected vice president of the Board. The two officers are members of the BCR Executive Committee, along with Frances Clymer, librarian at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, McCracken Research Library (Wyoming); Marilyn Mercado, associate dean of library services at Rod Library, University of Northern Iowa; Craig Neilson, information services manager, Utah State Library Division; and David Brunell, BCR executive director and Board treasurer.

Clymer and Mercado also were re-elected by member libraries to second terms on the Board of Trustees. Elected to the Board for their first terms are Cynthia K. Berner Harris, Wichita (Kansas) Public Library and Larry Wieland, Jefferson County (Colorado) Public Schools.

The Board members and officers begin their new terms July 1, the first day of BCR's fiscal year. The first Board meeting of the new year is scheduled for September 14.

BCR, a nonprofit library service cooperative, helps libraries acquire, implement and manage automated information services. BCR provides the latest in information and technology training including Web-based workshops; access, training and support for OCLC services; discounts on reference databases, electronic books and hardware and software; consulting; online database publishing; and custom cataloging.
