Bailey-Hainer New Vice President of BCR Board of TrusteesAURORA, COLO, November 22, 2004 — The Board of Trustees for the Bibliographical Center for Research (BCR) has appointed Brenda Bailey-Hainer, director of Networking and Resource Sharing at the Colorado State Library, as the new vice president of the Board. She replaces Karen Strege, who retired from her Montana state librarian position in mid-October. As vice president of the Board for the nonprofit library network, Bailey-Hainer will fill in for Board President Stephen Rollins (dean of the University of Alaska Anchorage, Consortium Library) in his absence from Board of Trustee meetings and other functions. In her new office, Bailey Hainer also will serve on the BCR Executive Committee. Bailey-Hainer has served on the BCR Board of Trustees since 2000 as an alternate to Colorado State Librarian Nancy Bolt. At the Colorado State Library, she oversees the Colorado Virtual Library and the AskColorado - Statewide Virtual Reference Service, among other projects. BCR is a nonprofit, multistate library network that has served the library community since its founding in 1935, providing cost-effective library and information services. Today BCR serves more than 1,050 voting-member libraries in 41 states and Canada, many through statewide agreements with state library agencies in 11western states allowing all libraries in those states to use BCR services as member institutions. BCR offers the latest in information and technology training, OCLC products and services, electronic databases, e-books, consulting services and custom cataloging.
