Aurora, Colo. — BCR, the nation’s oldest and most established multistate library cooperative, announces a comprehensive new brand identity. Since 1935, the BCR team has helped libraries learn new skills, reach patrons, increase productivity and save money. As BCR nears its 75th anniversary, the organization is rolling out a new brand identity and Web site.

The new brand identity is a comprehensive makeover, including logo, mission, tagline, colors, Web site and message.  Brenda Bailey Hainer, President and CEO of BCR says, “We spent a lot of time determining what our members need from us, and we took that knowledge and reshaped our identity to reflect it.  We want to focus on what we can offer our members to help them stay ahead of the curve when it comes to technology, trends and the latest developments in the field.”

BCR’s hope is that the new brand identity will help BCR reach out to libraries and in turn help libraries reach further into their community.  The goal is to live up to a new corporate mission: to bring libraries together for greater success by expanding their knowledge, reach and power.  BCR wants to help members engage their patrons and increase impact within their local communities.

In addition to launching a new identity for the organization, BCR plans to help members learn from its experience and implement similar projects within their community.

“We really want to help libraries make a fundamental shift.  We want them to move from being the place everyone thinks they know about to being the place everyone definitely uses,” says Gillian Harrison, BCR’s Manager of Marketing & Support.
