Best Practices & Publications
BCR’s CDP has worked extensively with library, museum and archive practitioners to help standardize and share protocols governing the implementation of digital projects. The result of these collaborations is a set of Best Practice documents that cover issues such as digital imaging, Dublin Core metadata and digital audio. These Best Practice documents are intended to help with the design and implementation of digitization projects. Because they were collaboratively designed by experts in the field, you can be certain they include the best possible information, and they have been field tested and proven in practice. These Best Practice documents are an ongoing collaborative project, and BCR’s CDP is continually adding new documents and information as they are developed.
In addition to our Best Practice documents, BCR’s CDP has compiled an extensive list of our publications for you to use and review. These publications describe some of our digital projects as well as scholarly studies of the digital environment including users, technology, access and stewardship. Also included in the publications section are a selection of presentations authored by BCR’s CDP staff and presented at relevant conferences and meetings. We hope these publications will enhance your understanding of digitization practices and techniques.
