Metadata Generators
Metadata Related Tools
Metadata generators can assist in adding information that can be inserted into the HTML "META" tag on your web page for increased hits from online searches. These tools, from the OCLC Dublin Core pages, provide an excellent starting point for exploring and testing several existing metadata generators. Some examples include DC Dot, which retrieves a web page that you enter and automatically generates Dublin Core metadata in the "META" tags at HTML or as RDF/XML suitable for embedding in the "HEAD" tags. The generated metadata can also be converted into other formats. Another example is the Nordic Metadata Template for Dublin Core, as well as Reggie, a metadata editor, which extracts "META" tags from a web page you enter and adds them to fields according to the schema you choose. You can also create your own schemas.
