The Loveland Museum/Gallery has identified approximately 50 properties that will be included in a digital walking tour of Loveland, Colorado. Chosen properties include such sites as the Loveland Light Heat & Power Company, the Lovelander Hotel, the Rialto Theater, and the Great Western Sugar Company Factory. Each building was chosen for its historical significance to Loveland as well as their unique architectural style. The digital walking tour of these properties will include at least one photograph and in some cases, two or three. These photographs show the architectural details of each building. When possible, historical photographs will be used to complement modern images of the building. In addition, architectural information has been gathered for each building. The text created from this information will serve as an educational component to help viewers understand the architectural elements of each building.
The Loveland Museum/Gallery hopes that students will use this web page as an educational tool, that it will increase awareness of historic preservation, and it will peak the interest of the general public regarding the Museum’s photographic collection and other holdings.
