This year, October is a popular month for state library conferences. Library
associations in four BCR member states -- Nevada, Iowa, Wyoming and Colorado --
all have scheduled annual conferences in October.
The Nevada Library Association kicks off the fall gatherings October 1-4 in Las
Vegas. The Iowa Library Association's annual state conference follows October 14-16
in Waterloo. Wyoming librarians will meet October 15 and 16 in Jackson, and the
Colorado Library Association concludes the annual meetings October 15-19 in
Colorado Springs.
Representatives from BCR will attend each conference. BCR will also sponsor various
programs at each conference, including the "BCR Network Update" where librarians
are brought up-to-date on the latest news in library information technology. Those
attending will hear about what's new at OCLC and SilverPlatter, what's happening on
the Internet, what new reference services are available and the latest news in library
related hardware and software.
