Monthly Management Reports Available
for Dedicated TCP/IP and Internet Access
(December 1999 Action for Libraries newsletter)

By Jan Campau

OCLC's monthly management reports for Dedicated TCP/IP and Flat Fee Internet access are invaluable in helping institutions determine whether they are paying for the correct number of simultaneous users. Available on the Product Services Web site, the reports show three months of an institution's monthly connect time, the number of sessions and the number of simultaneous users.

To access the Product Service Web site, go to psw.oclc.org/psw. To view or download the reports, all you need is a valid OCLC authorization number and password. Once you arrive at the Product Services Web site, choose Reports, then choose either OCLC Dedicated TCP/IP Reports or OCLC Flat Fee Internet Reports. After entering your valid authorization and password, three months' worth of reports are available for viewing or downloading.

The reports are coded by date and format as: 9909D, 9909S, 9909T, 9908D, 9908S, 9908T, 9907D, 9907S and 9907T ( 09 is September, 08 August and 07 July). The format in which the report appears D, S or T depends on whether you want to view the report or import it into a software package.

    T = Text for viewing

    D = Database for importing into software such as Access

    S = Spreadsheet for importing into software such as Excel

The reports must be viewed or downloaded within the three-month period, as past reports are no longer available once they are removed from the Product Services Web site.
