Nomination Committee Chosen
for BCR Spring Election

By Joyce Hillshafer

The president of the BCR Board of Trustees has appointed the BCR Nominating Committee for 1998-99. The committee will prepare the slates for this spring's BCR OCLC Users Council delegate and Board of Trustees elections.

Michael Wright, director of the Indianola (Iowa) Public Library and BCR at-large trustee, is chairing the committee. Other committee members are Camilla Alire, dean of libraries at Colorado State University; Fred Atchison, director of the North Central Kansas Library System and Processing Center; Joan Kershner, director of the Nevada Department of Museums, Library and Arts; Jerry Meyer, technical services librarian at Davis County (Utah) Public Library; and Jerry Krois, acting state librarian, Wyoming State Library.

The committee will set up a slate of candiates to fill one BCR OCLC Users Council delegate position. The term of Nancy Knipe will expire in June 1999.

The nominating committee also will develop a slate of candidates for the spring trustee election. The terms of Beth Marie Quanbeck and Pamela Drayson, both at-large trustees; Patricia Hodgson, processing center and school libraries trustee; and Yem Fong, special libraries trustee, will expire the end of June.

Any BCR OCLC general member may nominate a candidate to be considered for the OCLC Users Council delegate ballot by submitting the signature of one official voting representative and written permission of the potential nominee. Nominating petitions, which were mailed in December to official voting representatives of BCR OCLC libraries, must be received at BCR's Aurora office prior to January 31, 1998.

To nominate a write-in candidate for the BCR Board of Trustees that will be added automatically to the election slate, send the written permission of the nominee and signatures of 10 voting BCR members to BCR. Contact BCR's Joyce Hillshafer for a write-in nomination form.
