Bibliographic Instruction Resources
Now Available on BCR Web Site

In response to member requests and suggestions made in recent focus groups, BCR staff has compiled a list of electronic bibliographic instruction (BI) resources for the online reference databases BCR offers. The list can be found on BCR's web site under Toolkits or go directly to www.bcr.org/~ids/Toolkits/bi.html.

BCR staff has established direct links to technical support resources provided by database publishers. Several links also have been made to bibliographic instruction sites created by the University of California at Berkeley, including tutorials for the NEXIS system, Datastream, Dow-Jones databases and International Financial Statistics.

Besides the Berkeley tutorial, BCR has found numerous other guides to using LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe, including BI sites by Harvard University Libraries, College of New Jersey, Johns-Hopkins University and UCLA.

SilverPlatter tutorials are linked from the University of Kansas Medical Center, Deakin University, University of Saskatchewan, Salem State College, University of Exeter, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Wake Forest University.

BCR's Bibliographic Instruction Resources also includes links to guides for using OCLC, BookWhere 2000, Bowker, Britannica, Chadwyck-Healey, Dialog, Dow-Jones, Gale, Grolier, Grove, Ovid, UMI Proquest and H.W. Wilson databases.

Librarians who know of other resources to include in this list should submit their suggestions to BCR's Michael Sauers.
