BCR Employs Three to Staff
Bibliographic, Business Postitions
BCR has hired three new employees, filling staff vacancies in two departments. Two
of those hired are librarians who will serve in BCR's Bibliographic Systems &
Services (BS&S) program. Ann Morrow Schwab has already begun her new post at
BCR. Michael Wright will begin his new duties on June 1. Wright will spend his
first few weeks on the job in BCR's Aurora (Colorado) office obtaining training before
returning to work in Iowa. The third new employee, Renee Cohen, is a part-time
accounting clerk in the Business Office.
Schwab is already working out of BCR's main office in Colorado. She will provide
technical support for various OCLC services, including cataloging and interlibrary
loan. She also will teach BCR workshops on various OCLC-related topics.
Schwab comes to BCR after serving as librarian at two Denver Public Library branch
libraries. Prior to that she worked on the Colorado State Library's Access Colorado
Library and Information Network (ACLIN), served as an Internet instructor at Red
Rocks Community College and as young adult librarian at Queens Borough Public
Library in New York. She also worked at libraries at the Iliff School of Theology and
Drew University. Schwab received her MLIS from the University of North Carolina
at Greensboro.
Wright comes to BCR from Indianola (Iowa) Public Library, where he has served as
director for the past year. Prior to that he served as systems access librarian at Dunn
Library, Simpson College (Iowa). He also has served at libraries at Drake University,
Gettysburg College, Augsburg College and Minneapolis Public Library.
Wright is a member of the BCR Board of Trustees and serves on the Executive
Committee. He currently is a member of the Task Force on Document Delivery, State
Library of Iowa. Wright received his MLIS from the University of Minnesota.
Cohen is responsible for helping prepare and mail monthly invoices, processing and
sending out late notices and filing for the Business Office. She also serves as a
backup for BCR's reception desk, answering phones. Cohen has worked previously as
a bookkeeper and office assistant for Brodsky Auction Services and Crawford's Surf
and Wear, both in Florida. She attended the University of Tampa, Florida.
