NetLibrary Records Accessible on WorldCat Collection Sets

OCLC is making a WorldCat Collection Set available for netLibrary electronic titles. The initial file of netLibrary cataloging records consists of 1,628 records. Additional records are expected to be added to WorldCat as original records as the bibliographic information becomes available. Consequently, this set of records will be considered open-ended, and libraries may want to order the set as a subscription, receiving new records automatically as they become available.

Interested OCLC users should complete the existing WorldCat Collection Sets order form on OCLC's Web site (www.oclc.org) or obtain an order form from BCR. Users who wish to receive additional netLibrary records must check the Standing Order box on the Collection Sets order form. Prices for the electronic records are:

MLE2107 MARC Record Copying Charge $.17 per record
TAP3923 Electronic Record Retrieval and Setholdings$.92 per record

Once OCLC finishes enhancing the WorldCat Collections Set service to add more options, OCLC will provide the records again (free of charge) to interested users. OCLC anticipates that some users will want to have new versions of records that reflect the additional processing options that will be available after the completion of the WorldCat Collection Sets enhancements.

Users who wish to reorder the records after the enhancements are done will need to submit an order form within 90 days of the project's completion. Users with systems that cannot overlay records efficiently are advised to wait to purchase the set once the enhancements are complete in January 2000.
