BCR Elections Scheduled for Spring,
Nominate Candidates Now

By Joyce Hillshafer

In early December, BCR Board President Richard Doyle will appoint a nominating committee to develop the official election slates for this spring's BCR OCLC Users Council delegate and Board of Trustees elections. The committee will include a representative from each BCR member state and will present the slate to the BCR Board at its February 2, 2001, meeting.

OCLC Users Council Election
Official voting representatives of each BCR/OCLC library in December will receive a mailing with election information, including a nomination petition. Any BCR/OCLC general member may nominate a candidate for the committee's consideration for BCR's OCLC Users Council delegate position by submitting the signature of one official voting representative and the written permission of the potential nominee.

Petitions to nominate must be received at BCR's Aurora office no later than Friday, January 26, 2001. You may fax the petition to BCR at (303) 751-9787.

BCR Board of Trustees Election
The nominating committee also will develop a slate of candidates for the spring trustee election. Contact BCR's Joyce Hillshafer (jhillsha@bcr.org) if you would like to volunteer for consideration for the Board of Trustees slate. She will pass the information on to the nominating committee.

Ten BCR members also may nominate a write-in candidate for the BCR Board. To automatically add the nomination to the election slate, send the written permission of the nominee and the signatures of 10 voting BCR members to BCR. Contact Hillshafer for a write-in nomination form. Nomination forms may also be faxed to (303) 751-79787.
