Denver Public Library was ranked the top library in the nation for libraries in cities with a population of a half million or more by Hennen's American Public Library Ratings Index. Libraries are scored on 15 measures. Hays (Kansas) Public Library and Lynnville (Iowa) Public Library also rated number one in their respective 10,000-to-24,999 and 999 and under population categories. Other BCR member libraries scoring in the top 10 in their population categories are: Johnson County Public Library, Mary Cotton Public Library and Seneca Free Library (KS); Ames Public Library, Cresco Public Library, North Liberty Community Library and Union Public Library (IA).
