Seven Named to Nominating Committee
(February 2000 Action for Libraries newsletter)

By Joyce Hillshafer

The president of the BCR Board of Trustees has appointed a representative from each BCR member state to sit on the BCR Nominating Committee for 1999-2000. Pamela Drayson, director of library services at Kansas City Kansas Community College and an at-large trustee on the BCR Board, is chairing the committee and is the Kansas representative.

Other Nominating Committee members are:

    Beth Marie Quanbeck
    Central Iowa Regional Library System
    Iowa representative

    Margaret Owens
    Jefferson County Public Library
    Colorado representative

    Darlene Staffeldt
    Montana State Library
    Montana representative

    Ann Langevin
    Sahara West Library
    Nevada representative

    Barbara Spruill
    Park City Library
    Utah representative

    Jerry Krois
    Wyoming State Library
    Wyoming representative

Nominations for the single opening -- that of James Williams -- for the BCR OCLC Users Council delegate election were accepted only until January 28. However, write-in nominations are still being accepted for the four positions open on the BCR Board of Trustees William Knott, at-large; Kenneth Luker, research libraries; Rosanne Goble, public libraries; and Richard Doyle, academic libraries. The four trustees are eligible for reelection.

BCR member libraries may nominate a write-in candidate for the Board who will automatically be added to the election slate by sending the written permission of the nominee and signatures of 10 voting BCR members to BCR's Joyce Hillshafer.
