OCLC FirstSearch Update
OCLC anticipates that migration to the new version of the OCLC FirstSearch service will occur sometime between June and September 2000. Libraries accessing OCLC FirstSearch through Z39.50 need to monitor the broadcast-only Z3950.FS-L Internet list to ensure their institution receives updates about the migration schedule during these months. To subscribe to the list, go to www.oclc.org/oclc/forms/listserv.htm or contact OCLC User and Network Support (support@oclc.org) or call (800) 848-5800 about implementing access to the new version of the FirstSearch service.

Additionally, if you would like to receive direct communications about the numerous changes OCLC has made to the FirstSearch service, you may join FirstSearch-L, an OCLC-sponsored electronic mail list. You can manage your membership via OCLC's Web site (www.oclc.org/oclc/forms/fs-list.htm).

PAIS/OCLC Merger Complete
The PAIS International Marketing Memorandum outlines plans for marketing and support of the PAIS International database now that the merger is complete. OCLC PAIS will have a booth at the ALA Annual meeting in July.

CIS Universe Annual Enrollment Period Underway
Group subscription enrollment and renewals for the CIS Universe database products is currently underway. The signup period ends June 30, so school and corporate libraries need to get their orders in to BCR as soon as possible. Up-to-date pricing and online enrollment forms on each of the CIS Universe products (Academic Universe, Congressional Universe, State Capitol Universe and Statistical Universe) can be found on the BCR Web site (www.oclc.org/oclc/forms/fs-list.htm) by clicking on Reference Databases and then CIS.

The prices on BCR's CIS Web order form are ceiling prices. As more libraries enroll, the price will be pushed down. BCR libraries will be billed at the lower final price.

Britannica Online Renewals
It is not too late to renew your library's Britannica Online subscription and take advantage of the low pricing now available. As of May 9, 75 institutions with a total of 133,667 FTEs had renewed their subscriptions. To renew, go to BCR's Web site (www.bcr.org), click on Reference Databases and then on Britannica. In addition to other important information, you can access the enrollment form from there as well as facts about pricing and adjustments to FTEs based on your library type.
