MSU Makes 99 millionth OCLC ILL Request
(June 2000 Action for Libraries newsletter)

Montana State University-Bozeman made the 99 millionth request on the OCLC Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service on April 14 for the book Fortress California, 1910-1961: From Warfare to Welfare by author Roger W. Lotchin.

The Penrose Memorial Library at Whitman College in Walla Walla (Washington) filled the request.

May Guthmiller, ILL clerk at Montana State University-Bozeman Libraries, entered the request. She didn't realize the significance, however, until she received a telephone call of congratulations from OCLC staff.

MSU Libraries is a BCR member library, and has been an OCLC member library for a little more than a year. The library previously obtained OCLC services through the Montana State Library. The university library makes use of such features as OCLC ILL Micro Enhancer software, OCLC ILL Custom Holdings for Union List and Reasons for No.

MSU's ILL staff comprises four ILL clerks — Mary Guthmiller, Sue Lessley, Nancy Briggs and Gayle Hendricks — and Bette Mongold, supervisor.
