Distance Learning Pilot Project Initiated (March 2000 Action for Libraries newsletter) BCR is working with the Utah Education Network (UEN) to provide a new distance education offering. Tentatively scheduled for March 31, a two-hour workshop titled "Search Engines: What's New, What Works" will be offered via the closed video network run by the UEN. The UEN facilities provide down- link sites all over Utah, allowing BCR to reach members throughout the state. If the pilot is successful, BCR hopes to offer other courses via the UEN and to branch out to our other member states' video- conferencing networks.
