SilverPlatter News
Users who access their database subscriptions via the SilverPlatter Internet Service now can use WebSTATS to view their usage statistics via the Web. Consortia directors will find this new tool particularly useful to view usage statistics for the entire consortium. The following reporting options are available:

  • Select data range for report.
  • View data broken out by day, month or one total for the entire report.
  • Sort by user, date or database name.
  • View report on screen or import to a spreadsheet.

Go to webstats.silverplatter.com to access WebSTATS and use your Internet Service user name and password.

SilverPlatter has enhanced the Web Link to Holdings feature to allow libraries to provide a link from a SilverPlatter record to the corresponding record in the library's Web- compatible OPAC. WebLinks to Holdings is free to all users through either a local ERL solution or the SilverPlatter Internet Service. Go to www.silverplatter.com/erl/weblinks.htm for more information on requirements and to set up the service.

Design changes have been made to several SilverPlatter databases. These include:

  • The 2000/05-2000/07 update of the CINAHL Database has a new .pdf image disc.
  • In November 2000, starting with the 1980-2000/10 update, Analytical Abstracts will be updated quarterly instead of monthly.
  • The 1973-2000/08 update of Bioethicsline contains a new thesaurus.
  • The GPO Database has a new URL field that links to an online version of the document at the GPO Printing Office.

OCLC FirstSearch Enhancements
