Jerry Krois, deputy state librarian, Wyoming State Library and an alternate on the BCR Board of Trustees, was elected vice president/president elect of the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA), a division of ALA.

BCR member states Wyoming, Montana, Kansas and Iowa are among the top 10 states in the country in terms of "technology sophisticiation," according to a survey conducted by an independent educational research firm reported in Technology/Cybertimes on the Web. They lead the nation in the use of technology to connect classrooms and school media centers to the Internet.

Wyoming this academic year became the first state to wire all its public schools, including media centers, for Internet access.
