New Todd Curriculum-in-a-Box
Integrates Hardware, Preloaded Software

BCR, in an agreement with Todd Enterprises Inc., is offering schools and libraries an affordable system that integrates educational hardware and software, allowing educators to put networked technology into the classrooms more quickly and easily. Todd's new Curriculum-in-a-Box program provides Knowledge Adventure educational software preinstalled in its Titan Thin Client servers.
The software covers kindergarten through grade eight with a wide range of curriculum: reading, phonics, typing, math and general knowledge programs. In the future, librarians and teachers will be able to try out the Knowledge Adventure educational software via a demonstration program on Todd's Web site: www.toddent.com. The educational software will be preinstalled on Todd's Titan Thin Client CD server, a multi-protocol, network-ready, plug-and-play unit. It simplifies installation, administration and CD-ROM sharing. The Titan Thin Client CD server is equipped with Todd's exclusive MCD Accelerator module and one five-disc CD-ROM changer. The MCD Accelerator mirrors and stores the CD-ROM resources.
Network administrators can enable numerous users to access data simultaneously from their desktops with no more long waits for disc swaps. Users can access information at hard-drive speeds of up to 66X. The Titan Thin Client CD server is a dedicated CD- ROM server and will attach anywhere on a network via a 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet connection. It supports Novelle Netware, Microsoft Networking (Windows NT, Windows 95/98 and Windows for Workgroups and DOS) and other network protocols. The unit is 16.75 inches deep by 7.25 inches wide and 10.25 inches high. Todd Enterprises provides three-year priority hardware maintenance and toll-free phone support.
Libraries and schools can obtain the Titan Thin Client CD server alone or bundled with from three to 19 Knowledge Adventure software programs. The Titan Thin Client CD 25 server without software is available through BCR for $3,875. The server with three preloaded software programs can be purchased from BCR for $5,887.
