Books24x7 Pricing Finalized
BCR has completed a group purchase for academic libraries (including K-12) of the Books24x7 database service. Pricing has been set at $.94 per FTE and is based on the total number of FTEs enrolled as of December 15, 2000.

Books24x7 provides access to full-text electronic versions of top technical books and journals, fully searchable and consistently presented. Publishers include MIT Press, O'Reilly, Osborne/McGraw-Hill, Que, Sams, Sybex and Wiley. Books can be read using Internet Explorer 4 or better and Netscape 4 or better. Books24x7 is also producing free MARC records for its electronic book titles. The MARC records are available via FTP, are updated weekly and can be downloaded in an entire batch or just the most recent additions.

SilverPlatter Adds ATLAS Full Text Plus Database
Users of ATLA Religion Database can now upgrade their subscriptions to the new ATLAS Full Text Plus Database. The ATLAS Full Text Plus is the complete ATLA Religion Database (1949 to present) with the addition of links to the full text of cited articles from leading religion periodicals, which allows instant access to any available article by linking from the database citation.

Subscription pricing for ATLAS Full Text Plus includes the price of ATLA Religion Database at the simultaneous usage selected with an additional linking fee:

  • $2,000 for universities, four-year colleges and theological seminaries.
  • $1,000 for public libraries, community colleges, technical schools, special libraries and secondary schools.
  • Reduced linking fees are available for additional sites within consortia and multisite situations.

Your library must be an Internet or ERL subscriber to take advantage of the full-text database. However, if you have a CD-ROM subscription, this is the perfect time to upgrade your access to receive all the benefits of the new ATLAS Full Text Plus Database product.
