BCR to Attend Hawaii Library Conference

BCR staff members are looking forward to the 2001 Hawaii Library Association Annual Conference November 2-3 on Maui. This is the first time BCR will participate in HLA since the Hawaii State Library became a BCR member in January. The state library's BCR membership is automatically extended to all Hawaii libraries, providing access to BCR's wide variety of affordable information services.

BCR staff will present the "BCR Library Automation Update" on Friday, November 2, at 10:30 a.m. The session will provide an overview of the latest technical developments and pricing trends in automated library products and services and major developments in online databases and the Internet.

Hawaii's librarians also are invited to attend "Electronic Resources at USC Access, Delivery and Management" on Friday, November 2, at 4:30 p.m., which BCR is sponsoring. BCR staff look forward to introducing speaker Marianne Afifi, director of electronic resources and special projects development at the University of Southern California. She will speak on the development and management of a database for electronic resources at USC.

Talk with our staff, ask questions and pick up information about the numerous services BCR makes available to its member libraries, including discounted subscriptions to online reference databases and electronic books, library-oriented workshops (both in the classroom and online), Internet services and microcomputer hardware and software.
