Grolier Online and Britannica Reference Database Renewals
The annual renewal cycle and sign-up period for the Grolier and Britannica reference databases has begun. Grolier subscribers must renew by May 1, 2002. The deadline for Britannica subscribers is May 31, 2002. BCR's discount prices are based on the volume of BCR's current contract. New participants for either product benefit from BCR's current high-volume contract and are also contributing to the volume that determines the prices for next year.

The annual renewal and sign-up period for BCR's Britannica Online products started in March. All subscriptions expire on May 31, 2002, and both current subscribers and new subscribers are required to submit a Web order form to access the service after June 1.

In addition, Britannica has announced major changes in its products. Not only is the popular Britannica Online database available, but 150 full-text e-journals and e- magazines have been added. For a complete run-down of new products or information on any of the popular existing databases, go to BCR's Web site at www.bcr.org/, click on Reference Databases and then on Britannica.

Libraries must opt-in to renew their access for both Grolier and Britannica on an annual basis. A newly designed Web order form ( www.bcr.org/~ids/Reference/Britannica/Britannica-Form.html) makes renewing even easier.

For a complete list of the Grolier titles available, go to the BCR Web site at www.bcr.org/. Click on Reference Databases, then Grolier. Regardless of the database service selected, the order form will automatically calculate your costs. And, although it is not necessary to complete and submit the order form to estimate costs, you must complete and submit the Web order form if you are continuing your subscription, transferring a direct account to BCR or are a new subscriber.

LexisNexis Academic Universe Subscribers Need This Mailing List
Academic Universe subscribers are urged to subscribe to the Lnacademic mailing list. The list provides a forum for questions and discussion of features and functionality of the academic products of LexisNexis as well as automatic notification of problems with the service. They promise not to overstuff your mailbox, and there usually aren't many questions from the field. For general information and to subscribe, go to the list information page at list.lexisnexis.com/mailman/listinfo/lnacademic.

AccessScience News Available Via E-mail
McGraw-Hill has started an e-mail distribution list for subscribers to AccessScience News. Library administrators can subscribe or unsubscribe by going to www.accessscience.com/server-java/MailForm/profile/ to Edit your registration information, then scroll down the page to Email Alerting and click on Yes or No as appropriate, then click on Submit Changes.

For questions or to subscribe to any reference database, contact BCR's Jim Hensinger (jhensing@bcr.org), Karen Graham (kgraham@bcr.org) or Laura Chittivej (lchittiv@bcr.org).
