Maureen Kelley was named campus librarian at Oregon State University, Cascade Campus.

Nyla Fujii-Babb, children's librarian at Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library, was named 2002 Hawaii State Public Library System Employee of the Year.

Eagle Mountain Public Library has been formally certified by the Utah State Library Board. Michele Graves was named the facility's librarian. Also in Utah, the small South Salt Lake Library closed in March and reopened in April as the Columbus Library in a renovated school three times the size of the old library.

Linda Siegrist is the new librarian of Barnard Library in the Central Kansas Library System.
