BCR Goes North to AlaskaBCR Executive Director Dave Brunell and Ellen Fox, project manager for Research & Development (R&D), will travel north to Alaska to attend the 2002 Alaska Library Association (AkLA) Annual Conference March 7-10 in Anchorage. Fox will present the program "Consortial Use of E-books: A Case Study" on Friday, March 8, from 2-3:30 p.m. The program will provide an overview of usage statistics and factors that impact the use of consortial purchases of electronic books, specifically netLibrary books. The role of MARC records, staff training and other variables will be considered. Fox and Brunell will also staff BCR's booth in the exhibits area of the conference. Alaska librarians are invited to stop by and introduce themselves and get acquainted with BCR and the products and services we offer member libraries, including group purchases, discounts on numerous reference databases, consortial purchases of e-books, access to the latest in library training — both distance learning and classroom sessions — and OCLC products and services. BCR appreciates the opportunity to help sponsor the printing of this year's AkLA conference program. Next Article | Previous Article | Table of Contents | BCR Publications Comments to:
