Haines Public Library (Alaska) received a $1.13 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for construction of a new library building. The library is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

Sandy Patton, director of Learning Resource Services, School District 11 (Colorado Springs), received the national AECT School Media Specialist of the Year award.
