Board Elects Officers for FY 2002-2003

The BCR Board of Trustees has elected officers for the new fiscal year (July 1, 2002- June 30, 2003). Lesley Boughton, state librarian for the Wyoming State Library, is the new president of the Board, and Virginia Lowell, state librarian for the Hawaii State Library, is the new vice president.

Besides officiating over Board meetings, the two are members of BCR's 2002-2003 Executive Committee, along with Jim Godsey, director of the Council Bluffs (Iowa) Public Library; Cynthia Berner Harris, director of libraries for the Wichita (Kansas) Public Library; Marilyn Mercado, associate dean of library services at Rod Library, University of Northern Iowa; and David Brunell, BCR executive director and Board treasurer.

The BCR Board of Trustees will meet for the first time this fiscal year on September 13. Future Board meetings are scheduled for December 13, February 21, 2003 and May 16, 2003.
