Member NewsDr. Diana Graff, dean of library services at Southern Utah University, has been named Librarian of the Year by the Utah Library Association. Bette Ammon, Missoula Public Library, was awarded the Sheila Cates Librarian of the Year honor at the 2002 Montana Library Association Awards Luncheon. Oregon Library Association honored Judy Harold, Springfield Public Library, with the 2002 Evelyn Sibley Lampman Award for library service to children. Mona Carmack was named Library Professional for 2002 and Helen Hokanson, New Professional for 2002 by the Kansas Library Association. Both are Johnson County Library staff members. Diane Perushek has been appointed university librarian at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Libraries. In Alaska, newly appointed library directors are Denise Petersen, Russian Mission Library, and Kathleen Hertel, Anchorage Museum of History and Art Library and Archives. Dave Ellefsen is the new director of the Elko County (Nevada) Library. Jean Wenke was hired as director of the Hillsboro (Iowa) Public Library. In Idaho, Judy Dewey has been hired as the new director at the Madison District Library, and Audrey Crogh at the Meadows Valley Public Library. Pittsburg (Kansas) Public Library, a Carnegie library, is observing its centennial in 2002. Multnomah County (Oregon) Library is celebrating 100 years of service in 2002 and the opening of its new Hollywood Library, which doubles the space of the old facility.
