A number of individuals from BCR member libraries have just been honored by the American Library Association and its various divisions.

James F. Williams II, dean of libraries at the University of Colorado at Boulder and a former BCR delegate to OCLC Members Council, was awarded the ALA Melvil Dewey Medal for distinguished service to the Profession of Librarianship.
Tom Delaney, ILL coordinator at Colorado State University, received the 2002 Virginia Boucher-OCLC Distinguished ILL Librarian Award.
Jeffrey Beall, catalog librarian at Auraria (Denver, Colorado) Library, was named winner of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Samuel Lazerow Fellowship.
Randall Burke Hensley, public service division head at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Libraries, won the ACRL Miriam Dudley Instruction Librarian Award.
Susanna Flodin, technical services librarian at the Oregon Institute of Technology, was awarded the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) First Step Award.

Stella Bentley has been named the new dean of libraries at the University of Kansas.

Brenda Bailey-Hainer, Colorado State Library, and Lorrie Ann Butler, Denver Public Library, were named by Library Journal among the 2002 Movers and Shakers in the library world in the March 15 issue.

New directors in Colorado libraries include:

Joel Robinson, Marmot Library Network.
Mary Anne Hanson-Wilcox, Grand County Library District.
Tony Moffeit, interim dean of library services, University of Southern Colorado.

Becky Hawkins is the new director at Big Horn County (Wyoming) Library.

In Wyoming, Chris Bendline was named director of the Hot Springs County Library and Paul Holland, director of the Sweetwater County Library System.

Virginia Steel has been hired as the new director of Washington State University Libraries.

Eve Tallman is the new director of the Grand County (Utah) Library.
