BCR Offers Innovative Solution
for DVD/CD-ROM Bar Code Labeling
By Laura Chittivej
BCR in partnership with Computype, a leading manufacturer of bar code labels for
libraries, introduces an innovative solution for identifying a DVD or CD-ROM in a
library's collection. Libraries may now apply a preprinted DVD/CD label, manufactured
to be perfectly round so it will not throw the disc out of balance, to the center ring of a
DVD or CD.
BCR members may choose from four styles of the DVD/CD Label. The most popular label
is comprised of the round label for the media and a standard bar code label for the jacket.
Many media and book jobbers throughout the United States have begun to use this label.
The DVD/CD Label is made of a thin polypropylene material using a high heat adhesive. It
has been tested for use in all types of DVD and CD players.
The minimum order for labels is 2,000. Neighboring libraries, library systems and
school systems may batch their orders to achieve the minimum order size. For pricing or
to place an order please visit www.bcr.org. Choose Hardware and
Software and then Bar
Code Labels. For more information, contact BCR's Laura Chittivej (lchittiv@bcr.org).
