BCR Offers SYBWorld Database
Grove Dictionaries has agreed to offer BCR member libraries discounted pricing on SYBWorld, a new online service that provides information on global affairs. Subscribers to this new database will find data on the state of the world, with coverage of government and politics, geography, history, economics, social policy and culture for 192 countries. Based on the Statesman's Yearbook reference program, the SYBWorld database is an interactive, map-based interface with advanced full-text searching that puts specialized information at your fingertips. More than 2,000 links to other sites, regular monthly updates and extensive new content in addition to the areas traditionally covered by the SYB program provide students, researchers, policy-makers and business persons with up-to-date information on world affairs.

Discount pricing is available for public, academic, special and K-12 libraries. OCLC FirstSearch PsycARTICLES Discounted
The American Psychological Association (APA) recently announced new promotional pricing for PsycARTICLES and PsycINFO effective through December 1. Current and new site licensees of the PsycINFO database are eligible to obtain a new PsycARTICLES license at a 20 percent reduction and can lock in a limit on price increases for the subsequent two years.

Users who either already have a PsycINFO site license or who purchase a new PsycINFO license before December 1 will receive a 20 percent reduction on the FirstSearch price for a new PsycARTICLES license. In addition, by signing a three-year agreement with APA, subscribers can guarantee that data fee increases for PsycARTICLES will be no more than 4 percent annually during the second and third years of the contract. The discount applies only to PsycARTICLES; purchasing both PsycARTICLES and PsycINFO concurrently does not provide a discount on PsycINFO.

For stand-alone site licenses, the 20 percent reduction will be applied directly to the PsycARTICLES price. For consortium members, the 20 percent reduction will be applied to the price for the individual sites in the group before the standard APA group discount is taken.
