BCR Offers Computype DVD/CD
Label and Patron Card Savings
By Laura Chittivej
BCR, in partnership with Computype, has reduced prices for Computype DVD/CD labels and lowered the
minimum order required for patron cards. BCR member libraries benefit from a 9 percent to 18 percent
price reduction on three of the most popular Computype DVD/CD label formats. To further aid libraries
planning to introduce patron cards or looking for a new patron card provider, BCR has lowered the required
minimum order from 2,500 cards to only 1,000 cards.
BCR members may choose from four styles of DVD/CD labels. The most popular label (part #1004955) is
comprised of a round label for the media and a standard bar code label for the jacket. The DVD/CD label is
made of a thin polypropylene material using a high — heat adhesive. The media label is manufactured to be
perfectly round so it will not throw the disc out of balance and has been tested for BCR in all types of DVD
and CD players. The minimum order for the DVD/CD label is 2,000. Neighboring libraries, library
systems and school systems may batch their orders to achieve the minimum order.
As part of BCR's and Computype's ongoing patron card promotion a 5 percent price reduction on patron
cards ordered through September BCR is reducing the minimum patron card order from 2,500 cards to
1,000 cards. Computype also is waiving the standard $150 set-up fee. The cards are 24 mils thick and
include a bar code, signature panel, logo and artwork.
