The DataTimes database is scheduled to be removed from the OCLC FirstSearch service July 8. Nature Encyclopedia of Life Sciences Unveils New Content, Functionality
The Encyclopedia of Life Sciences has been renamed the Nature Encyclopedia of Life Sciences (ELS), incorporating changes in content, functionality, site design and navigation.

  • Content: Nature ELS has added more than 400 new articles to the site through monthly updates since the encyclopedia was originally launched in April 2001. Hundreds of articles have been revised, amended or expanded since publication.
  • Navigation and Design: Nature ELS has been streamlined so it is easier to navigate. A new graphic look and feel retains all the key features that make the encyclopedia a unique tool.
  • Functionality: The speed of article search and retrieval has been significantly improved.

A few original features such as the Subject and A-Z Browse, Index, Bookmarks and Workgroups should be back up and running by the end of June.

For more information, including how to sign up for the new institutional trial, contact Karen Graham at BCR (kgraham@bcr.org).

For questions or to subscribe to any reference database, contact BCR's Rosario Garza (rgarza@bcr.org), Karen Graham (kgraham@bcr.org) or Laura Chittivej (lchittiv@bcr.org).
