BCR Launches New netLibrary Collection
Targeted to Community College Libraries
By Laura Chittivej
BCR is pleased to offer a new shared collection of netLibrary e-books for the community college library.
The BCR Community College Collection is open to all member libraries. For a complete list of titles, go to
www.bcr.org/reference/Netlibrary/NL-Menu.html.
Activation of the BCR Community College Collection will be determined by the number of participating
libraries that commit by the response date of November 14. BCR will not be able to purchase the collection
if the total amount of funds collected is insufficient to cover the cost of the proposed collection. Interested
libraries are encouraged to submit the online order form as soon as possible.
The BCR Community College Collection provides libraries with a cost-effective alternative for
accessing netLibrary e-books. By participating in this shared collection, any
library can gain access to a high-quality collection of almost 2,000 titles for less than $4 a title. The one-
time cost includes group purchase of all titles, all netLibrary service fees for access and MARC records.
Remember, no annual fee is associated with this collection of netLibrary e-books.
Libraries that are not currently netLibrary participants, but have staff who wish to try netLibrary, may go to
the netLibrary Web site, www.netlibrary.com, and choose the Reading Room tab. In the Reading Room
you may read, browse and print using the netLibrary interface with any of the public accessible sites listed.
More detailed information about netLibrary is also available by choosing the Help tab.
All academic, public, special and K-12 libraries are welcome to participate in this new BCR electronic book
collection. State libraries and consortia require individual quotations. For more information or to fill out
the participation form go to hwww.bcr.org/reference/Netlibrary/NL-Menu.html.
