ERIC Changes Scheduled for 2004 ERIC, the U.S. government's education database, will undergo a number of changes in 2004. These include using different sources of records, having groups of users and content experts advise on choosing content and the appointment of a producer under a new government contract. For more information about ERIC and all Ovid databases, see www.ovid.com/site/products/.

Scope of Analytical Abstracts Expanded
More papers in the growing areas of proteome and genome research are now available in the Ovid/SilverPlatter Analytical Abstracts database. Records concerning the determination or analysis of genes, specific DNA sequences, recombinant DNA technology and the isolation and sequencing of polypeptides and proteins are now included in the database.

For more information on any of the Ovid/ SilverPlatter and FirstSearch databases, contact Karen Graham at BCR (kgraham@bcr.org).

Encyclopedia of Astronomy and Astrophysics Publisher Changes
As of mid-February, the online version of the Encyclopedia of Astronomy and Astrophysics (EAA) is being published exclusively by the Institute of Physics Publishing (IOPP). Prior to that date, the EAA was a joint publication of the IOPP and the Nature Publishing Group (MPG). The EAA was available through BCR at a discount; however, this arrangement ceased on February 13.

Current subscribers should see no change in their access. However, all service inquiries and technical support questions now should go to the following e-mail address: sender@ioppubusa.com. If you prefer, you may call the U.S. offices of the IOPP: (215) 627-0880. Renewals and new subscription requests also should go to the above e-mail address or be directed to Ramona Monras-Sender at the above phone number.
