OCLC Enhances FirstSearch ILL Staff View
By Ann Schwab
OCLC continues to migrate OCLC ILL functionality into the new FirstSearch ILL Staff
View. Recent enhancements include the ability to:
Access all Constant Data records, no matter where they were created (Passport,
ILL Micro Enhancer, ILL Web). Constant Data records may now be edited in the
FirstSearch ILL Staff View, as well as all other OCLC ILL services.
Indicate use of ILL Fee Management (IFM) via a checkbox in Constant Data
records. This will automatically format IFM statements, reducing the likelihood
of format errors.
Create and edit Custom Holdings Groups and Paths and ILL Direct Request
Profiles. Use of Custom Holdings displays for borrowers and the ability to
generate automatic lender strings will be added in a future enhancement.
Use all borrower commands except Review File processing, request history and
saving requests.
Use the Message File for borrowing functionality only. Lending functionality
will be added in a future enhancement.
OCLC will continue to support Passport, the ILL
Micro Enhancer (ILL ME) and ILL Web through at least December 2004. OCLC intends
to give libraries approximately three months' notice before the products' final end-of-life
date.
