Latest Quarterly Training Calendar Mailed

BCR's new quarterly training calendar, which covers workshops scheduled for September through November, has been mailed to member libraries.

Look for full information on two newly created workshops:

"What's FRBR and Why Should I care About It?" is a classroom workshop for technical services staff. (See the article on page 1 of this newsletter for more FRBR information.)
"Internet Filtering Technology" is a new BCR Web- based offering that focuses on Internet content filters, how they work and what the filters can do for your library.

Also look for information on BCR's new partnership with the Collaborative Digitization Program (CDP) which allows BCR to now offer CDP digitization workshops as part of our regular training program. The current five workshops provide a plethora of information, including an introduction to digitization, digital imaging, Dublin Core metadata, digital audio and teaching with digital primary source materials.

The eight-page BCR Workshop Calendar provides an index of workshops by category, as well as monthly calendars with classes listed by date and location. BCR's comprehensive Web catalog, posted in the Workshops and Training section of BCR Online (www.bcr.org), provides detailed descriptions of each workshop, along with other information about BCR training.

If you do not receive a quarterly calendar in the mail, a PDF version will be available by early August on BCR's Web site at www.bcr.org/training/workshops/.
