Music Database Added to OCLC FirstSearch
OCLC has added the Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals (RIPM), 1800-1950,
database to the OCLC FirstSearch service. It provides international coverage of the
music periodical literature published in most European countries and the United States
from the late 18th to the early 20th centuries. The online index complements the printed
volumes of the ongoing Repertoire International de la Presse Musicale project, as well as
the RILM Abstracts of Music Literature database, also available on FirstSearch. Both
RILM and RIPM are beginning to expand the coverage of music literature
chronologically with the goal of soon covering more than 200 years of music scholarship.

Wilson Expands Index to Legal Periodicals Full Text
The WilsonWeb database, Index to Legal Periodicals Full Text, now includes complete
articles from more than 200 journals with the recent addition of 21 core sources,
including the highly praised Law Library Journal. The Index to Legal Periodicals Full
Text also indexes the cover-to-cover content of 1,000-plus journals and 1,400
monographs per year. H.W. Wilson expects more full-text sources to be added soon. For
a list of these new sources, go to
www.hwwilson.com/databases/legal.htm.
WilsonWeb Databases Link to Web Search Engines
Users of WilsonWeb databases have a new tool that now enables them to access
resources through Internet search engines such as Google and Yahoo, supplementing the
information already contained in the Wilson databases. Now a single WilsonWeb search
brings users results from three distinct sources the Wilson database(s) searched; full-
text links to other open-URL compliant databases to which the library subscribes; and
Google and other Internet search engines.
Article citations on any of the WilsonWeb periodical databases connect users to
WilsonLink, a free, integrated SFX-powered link-server that provides a seamless search
of any of the library's other OpenURL compliant databases. From WilsonLink, users can
also launch an automatic Internet search for information related to the cited article via
any of the Web's 12 most popular search engines.
The WilsonLink OpenURL search option is especially useful for obtaining the full text of
articles, when full text is not available on the WilsonWeb database searched.
Alternatively, the Internet search option allows the user to further expand the results with
other valuable information, including images and related Web sites. The automatic
search engine link is particularly practical for libraries with limited resources.

subscriptions for all H.W. Wilson products.
