Maggie Farrell, dean of libraries at the University of Wyoming, has been elected vice president/president elect of OCLC Members Council. Farrell, one of BCR's delegates to OCLC Members Council, has represented BCR member libraries on OCLC Members Council the last four years.

José Aponte, director of the Pikes Peak (Colorado) Library District, was named the 2004 Trejo Librarian of the Year by REFORMA.

ALA has honored June Pinnell-Stephens, Fairbanks North Star Borough (Alaska) Library, with its 2004 Freedom to Read Foundation Roll of Honor Award.

Catherine Murray-Rust is the new dean of libraries at Colorado State University.

Lamar (Colorado) Public Library was recognized by WebJunction with its Opportunities through Community Engagement award for exemplary service provided to its Spanish- speaking immigrant population.

A local resident has bequeathed more than $500,000 to the Salem (Oregon) Public Library Foundation.

Hays (Kansas) Public Library celebrated its new building with a grand opening in February.

Multnomah County (Oregon) Library reopened its Hillsdale Library in March in a brand new building, which has received a Merit Award for excellence in design from the Portland chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Rosebud County (Montana) Library has joined the State Depository Library Program.
