Nature Adds New Series of Journals

By Rosario Garza

Nature Publishing Group is launching the Nature Clinical Practice series in November. The four titles in the series are designed to provide physicians and interested parties brief reports and authoritative commentaries on the application of recent research to practical patient care. The four titles are Nature Clinical Practice Cardiovascular Medicine, Nature Clinical Practice Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Nature Clinical Practice Oncology and Nature Clinical Practice Urology.

These titles will be published monthly and will be available in both print and online forms. Each issue will include the following sections:

  • Editorial — written by the editor-in-chief or his/her nominee.
  • Research Highlights — short summaries of articles from other journals.
  • Viewpoint — an opinion article by a leading specialist.
  • Practice Points — unique articles focusing on an original research article published elsewhere.
  • Reviews — timely, authoritative reviews of developments in the speciality.
  • Case Studies — interesting studies that cover patients presenting unusual symptoms or in unusual circumstances.
  • CME — a validated questionnaire to enable readers to gain required Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits to maintain board certification.

These new journals are designed for physicians, residents and medical students, teaching hospitals and researchers.

A discount is available to BCR members who subscribe to the online version of all four titles. Pricing is available online on the BCR Web site: www.bcr.org.
