Free EBSCO and FirstSearch Workshops
Scheduled throughout Colorado
By Ann Schwab
The Colorado State Library has contracted with BCR to provide free EBSCO and
FirstSearch workshops. These workshops are available to all Colorado library staff
through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. BCR's Ann Schwab is the
instructor.
The EBSCO workshop will focus on the databases that are available through the AIRS
statewide agreement, including the EBSCO K-12 package, EBSCO Academic Search and
Business Source Premier. Attendees will learn about accessing, navigating and searching
using the EBSCO interfaces, learn what databases are available to them and get hands-on
searching experience. For dates and locations of the classes and to register, visit
www.bcr.org/training/workshops/ebsco.html.
The FirstSearch workshop will focus on the 10 OCLC FirstSearch databases available
through the AIRS statewide agreement. Attendees will learn about accessing, navigating
and searching using the FirstSearch interface, learn what databases are available to them
and get hands-on searching experience. Visit
www.bcr.org/training/workshops/frstsrch.html
for dates, locations and registration information.
