Member NewsSheila Afnan-Manns has been appointed the new director of the PORTALS Library Consortium for the greater Portland metropolitan region. Sharon Moreland, new director of the Tonganoxie (Kansas) Library, was welcomed with a reception. Tamara Miller has been appointed associate dean of libraries at Montana State University. Ginny Beckes is the new librarian at the Monroe (Utah) Public Library. In Washington, Jodi Reng was named the new director of the Timberland Regional Library and Thomas Moak the interim director of the Mid-Columbia Library. Amelia J. Shelley, Laramie County (Wyoming) Library Central Branch, is one of 10 librarians selected to participate in the LAMA Leaders of the Pack mentor project for future library leaders. Davis County (Utah) Library opened its new Syracuse/Northwest Branch library. The University of Alaska/Alaska Pacific University Consortium Library's new 119,000- square-foot addition has been completed, and the library staff and resources have moved in. Now the original 85,000- square-foot structure is scheduled to be remodeled. Kim Crowley is the new library director of Flathead County (Montana) Library. The Ellensburg (Washington) Public Library held an open house March 27 to help celebrate the completion of its expansion and renovation project. In Idaho, Twin Falls Public Library is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2004, while Stanley Community Public Library District is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
