BCR Lowers Price on Grove Art, Music
Databases for 2004-05 Subscription Year

Current subscribers of the Oxford University Press (OUP) databases will benefit from BCR's decision to lower pricing on both Grove Art Online and Grove Music Online. In addition to BCR's lower subscription price for 2004-2005, OUP has created a new opportunity for small public libraries to have affordable access to the Grove products that previously were available only at the higher unlimited access prices. Public libraries with a population served of less than 50,000 now have the option to subscribe at concurrent users levels. This offer is for a single branch only. Each library branch must pay for its own users.

Subscribers are reminded that Oxford University Press introduced two new databases late in the 2003-2004 subscription year — Oxford Scholarship Online and Oxford Reference Online: Premium Collection. Both new databases remain at the introductory pricing levels for the new subscription year. All other OUP databases have experienced a modest increase in pricing for 2004-2005.

Look for a fall 2004 release of Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (DNB), the first revision of the DNB in more than 100 years. DNB provides more than 50,000 signed biographies of the men and women who shaped all aspects of the British past, from the earliest times to the end of the year 2000. Nearly 36,500 biographies from the first edition have been revised or completely rewritten, and 13,500 new biographies have been added.
