Passport Cataloging and NACO
CatME Migration Delayed

Note: This date change applies only to cataloging!

In light of recent system disruptions and in response to requests from BCR and other regional service providers and library staff, OCLC is extending the May 1, 2005, migration date for Passport cataloging and NACO Cataloging Micro Enhancer (CatME) users to June 4, 2005, to allow more time for training in preparation for the move.

The Passport resource sharing migration date will remain May 1, 2005.

Migration dates for cataloging and resource sharing users are staggered so that OCLC staff can make a series of software installations necessary to provide the infrastructure required for a successful transition.

Discontinuation of the remaining CatME functionality, CJK software, and Arabic software will remain June 30, 2005. Union listing activities remain in Passport until later this year.

OCLC understands that recent system problems caused delays in training and migration efforts. Although this extension allows an additional five weeks for Passport cataloging and NACO CatME users to migrate to Connexion, we highly recommend that users make the move as soon as possible.

The migration Web site www.oclc.org/migration/ will soon be updated to reflect these changes.

OCLC appreciates your continued understanding and, once again, we apologize for the inconveniences caused by the recent system problems.
