Frances Clymer is the new library director at Park County (Wyoming) Library System. She is a former member of the BCR Board of Trustees.

Utah Library Association has honored Heather Reynolds, youth services librarian at Park City Public Library, as ULA Librarian of the Year.

Carol Monlux, library media specialist at Paxson Elementary School in Missoula was named Librarian of the Year and the Darby Community Public Library was named Library of the Year by the Montana Library Association (MLA). MLA also honored Karen Strege, former Montana state librarian and former member of the BCR Board of Trustees, with an Honorary Life Membership award.

Joan Kerschner-Tinker, former Nevada state librarian, and R. Jackson Armstrong-Ingram, former archives and records administrator fo the city of Henderson, were inducted into the Nevada State Archives and Records Heritage Hall of Fame in June. Kerschner-Tinker is a former member of the BCR Board of Trustees.

Bonnie S. Postlethwaite, Baker University (Kansas), is the new vice president/president-elect of ALA's Library and Information Technology Association (LITA).

Colorado's Bud Werner Memorial Library is one of three libraries named by WebJunction as grand prize winners at its annual ALA Awards Program. The library was honored with the Building Digital Opportunity Though Community Engagement award.

Colorado State Library was among the 37 libraries across the country honored by the U.S. National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS) for its role in identifying libraries in the state with outstanding health information programs.

Montana Center for the Book is one of five state centers awarded the 2005 Boostin Award by the Library of Congress Center for the Book for innovative reading promotion projects.

Rebecca Rule, Glendive (Montana) Public Library, is the winner of this year's Offline BiblioTechie of the Year award.

Bitterroot (Montana) Public Library was bequeathed nearly $339,000 by Robert Howe, a Hamilton native and Library of Congress bibliographer.

Wanda V. Dole, dean of libraries, Washburn University (Kansas), was appointed a UCLA Senior Fellows for the year 2005.

In Iowa, Fairfield Public Library welcomed new director Judy Bar-Shimon. Lori Barkema was named new director of the Cedar Rapids Public Library, Pamela Collins of the Scott County Library System and Laura Glasson of the Eldon Public Library.

Also in Iowa, the Kalona Public Library opened the doors to a new building and the Mt. Pleasant Public Library dedicated its new library and community center in the old high school. The new West Point Public Library and Historical Museum opened to the public.
