Member NewsState library agencies in two BCR member states have appointed individuals to their second-in-command positions. At the Idaho State Library Marj Shelby Hooper has been promoted to associate state librarian. At the Washington State Library Marlys Rudeen was named deputy state librarian. Both took their new posts in July. Southern Oregon University dedicated its new Lenn and Dixie Hannon Library in May. The expanded facility doubled the library's space. Roberta Studwell is now director of the Wiener-Rogers Law Library at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Doug Bates has been named new director of the Joseph F. Smith Library at Brigham Young University - Hawaii. Paola (Kansas) Free Library celebrated its 100th birthday in April. Elbert (Mickey) Coalwell was appointed library development coordinator for the Northeast Kansas Library System.
