A number of librarians on the staff of BCR member libraries were named Library Journal Movers & Shakers for 2005. Colorado: Cindy Eubank, Granby Library; Michelle Jeske, Denver Public Library; and Sharon Morris, Colorado State Library. Kansas: Cindi Hickey, SLIM, Emporia State University; Kathy McLellan and Tricia Suellentrop, Johnson County Library. Hawaii: Linda Golian-Lui, University of Hawaii, Hilo. Nevada: Rick Anderson, University of Nevada, Reno. Oregon: Terry Reese, Oregon State University. Washington: Judy Nelson, Pierce County Library System.

Johnson County (Kansas) Library will receive the 2005 ASCLA/KLAS/NOD Award from the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies at ALA on June 26.

Seattle Public Library is one of seven winners of the 2005 John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Awards sponsored by ALA and H.W. Wilson.

Amy Shelley, Laramie County (Wyoming) Library System, won the 2005 Young Adult Library Services Association Sagebrush Award.

Oregon Historical Society is the first recipient of the ABC-CLIO Online History Award administered by the RUSA History Section, a division of ALA.

The Board of Trustees for the Hays (Kansas) Public Library are the recipients of the 2005 John Phillip Immroth Memorial Award for Intellectual Freedom.

Mountain States Library Association awarded its 2004 Distinguished Service Award to Patti Butcher of the Northeast Kansas Library System.

The new Delta Junction (Alaska) Community Library celebrated its grand opening in January.

Kansas Library Association presented its 2005 Presidential Awards. Denise Smith, Stanton County Library, received the Meritorious Service Award, and Jim Minges, Northeast Kansas Library System, received the Library Personnel Award.

AskColorado online reference service received three awards: Project of the Year 2004 from the Colorado Association of Libraries; Exemplary Service Award 2004 Virtual Reference Desk from the U.S. Department of Education; and Tutot.com's Innovator Award.

Kristin Whitehair has been named the new director of the Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College library. Iola (Kansas) Public Library held an open house in February to celebrate its centennial.

Boyd Broughton is the new head librarian of the Rock Springs Library in Sweetwater County (Wyoming).

Iola (Kansas) Public Library is celebrating its centennial year in 2005.
