MPLA honored Utah State Librarian Donna Jones Morris with its 2005 Distinguished Service Award during October's MPLA/WLA annual library conference. Morris previously served at a variety of libraries in both Kansas and Colorado, including most recently as director of the Arkansas Valley Regional Library System. She is a member of the BCR Board of Trustees.

Southeastern Library Services (Iowa) Administrator Emily Navarre was selected to be a member of the Association of Library Trustees and Advocates (ALTA) National Advocacy Honor Roll. Navarre is an at-large member of the BCR Board of Trustees.

The White House has nominated Sandra Ashworth, director of the Boundary County (Idaho) District Library, to a second term on the U.S. National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS).

Bonnie Stahle, Crook County Library, was named Librarian of the Year by the Wyoming Library Association.
