BCR Ready Reference 2 Plus
Offers Cost-saving Acquisitions
By Laura Chittivej
BCR is pleased to offer a new shared collection of NetLibrary e-books intended specifically for libraries
where staff want to grow their reference collections without giving up shelving space. Open to all
member libraries, BCR Ready Reference 2 Plus includes more than 1,200 titles, among the best in
scholarly publishing.
BCR Ready Reference 2 Plus' one-time cost includes purchase of all titles in perpetuity, all NetLibrary
service fees for access and MARC records. Remember, no annual fee is associated with this collection
of NetLibrary e-books.
Activation of the BCR Ready Reference 2 Plus will be determined by the amount of funds committed
by the response date of December 2. BCR will not be able to purchase the collection should the
amount collected be insufficient. Interested libraries are encouraged to submit the online order form as
soon as possible.
Subject Sets Special
As an added value, BCR and OCLC will extend a special 9 percent discount per set on the purchase of
NetLibrary Subject Sets to Ready Reference 2 Plus participants. NetLibrary Subject Sets are titles
bundled by topic that are excluded from consortial collection purchase projects. Subject Sets are
available exclusively to local patrons; the titles are not shared by Ready Reference 2 Plus participants.
Details about NetLibrary Subject Sets offered are available at
www.oclc.org/netlibrary/offers/default.htm.
Libraries should note that Subject Set purchases will be invoiced separately from Ready Reference 2
Plus. NetLibrary will set up access to Subject Set e-books immediately if a signed license agreement is
on file.
All academic, public, special and K-12 libraries are welcome to participate in this exciting new
collection. State libraries and consortia require individual quotations. For more information or to fill
out the participation form, visit
www.bcr.org/reference/Netlibrary/NL-Menu.html.
Or contact BCR's Laura Chittivej at lchittiv@bcr.org for details.
